Location: Crawley, Sussex
The role will cover the whole of Kent, Surrey, Sussex geography and the postholder will be required, at times, to travel in and around the geography and periodically outside of the KSS geography.

Budgetary responsibilities: Manage their own P&L and be charged with a set of strategic growth targets.
Job purposeThe Director of Digital Data & AI will be responsible for expanding and delivering on the organisations ambitions to be a leader in Digital, Data and AI innovation, spread and adoption across the region and nationally.
Key responsibilities of the role- To be a champion/expert in Digital data and AI both internally and externally leveraging wider team members in systems as well as across other parts of Health Innovation KSS and embed greater knowledge and awareness generally.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital, data and AI strategy that aligns with the organisation's goals and objectives. Lead digital and data projects, prioritise requirements, and generate funding. Ensure transparent communication with the senior management team.
- To better 'market' and promote the region's digital & data assets and knowledge locally and nationally/internationally to public/private sector organisations interested in working with or utilising these assets.
- Technology Oversight: Stay abreast of emerging digital technologies and AI trends, ensuring the organisation leverages cutting-edge tools and practices.
- Project Management: Lead digital transformation projects, including AI implementations, digital marketing initiatives, and data analytics efforts.
- Team Leadership and Management: Manage, motivate, develop and mentor a team, including data analyst/scientists and programme manager. To act as a figurehead and be responsible for presenting at external conferences and events.
- Budget Management and Income Generation: Responsible for P&L, overseeing the budget for digital and AI initiatives, ensuring cost-effective solutions and ROI for technology projects.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other teams and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure digital and AI projects align with broader business objectives.
- Data Management: Develop strategies for data collection, management, and analysis to drive business insights and decision-making.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure digital and AI systems comply with relevant regulations and standards, and maintain robust security practices to protect data and technology assets.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of digital and AI initiatives, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Innovation and translational research: Foster a culture of innovation within the team and organisation, encouraging experimentation with new technologies and approaches by working with the translational research team and academic partners.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing education and training for staff on digital tools and AI technologies to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Person specification: Director of Digital, Data and AIEducation, qualifications & trainingEssential criteria:- Educated to degree or advanced degree level in Business Management, computer science/data science/IT/digital health leadership or relevant subject.
- Significant evidence of continuous professional development; record of CPD shows strong self-development ethos and learning from a broad range of interests.
Desirable criteria- Experience of MedTech/Health Tech industry and or the NHS.
Knowledge and experienceEssential criteria:- Strong understanding of the healthcare landscape, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, and reimbursement models.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, managing business development, and building strategic partnerships.
- Experience in Digital Data & AI leadership roles, preferably within the healthcare or not-for-profit sector.
