Director, Debt Capital Markets Origination

ABN AMRO Bank N.V.
London
GBP 125,000 - 150,000
Job description

At a glance

The Director, Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Origination is positioned in the Markets department and reports to the Head of Debt Capital Markets UK. Markets UK aims to be the leading Capital Markets service provider to the clients of the bank. The UK is a key market for the bank to grow its Northwestern European footprint and forms part of the core Debt Capital Markets strategy for servicing Financial Institutions & Corporate Coverage. The mission of DCM is to be a strategic partner for the bank’s clients through the provision of first-class institutional funding and capital solutions.

Markets is the heart of ABN AMRO’s Corporate Banking (CB) business. London is the home to the largest number of the bank’s Financial Institution (FI) clients and a significant global asset management hub. As such, UK DCM plays a pivotal role in the bank’s desire to provide a sustainable capital markets offering. These clients are banks, insurance companies, other FIs, as well as a growing Corporate client base within its chosen sector themes.

DCM products include vanilla fixed income bonds, such as senior unsecured bonds, senior non-preferred unsecured bonds, secured bonds (covered bonds), RMBS, and bank or insurance capital products including Tier 2, Tier 3, Additional Tier 1 and Restricted Tier 1 issues. In addition to public bonds, the Corporate client base relies heavily on Private Placements, and works agnostically across currencies and the credit rating spectrum from investment grade to high yield, leveraged and sponsor-backed names.

Wherever appropriate DCM Origination will form part of a Client Service Team (CST), a multi-disciplinary team with specialist expertise in the fields relevant to a particular CIC client, alongside complimentary ABN AMRO ancillary teams and advisory capabilities.

Your job

The objective of the function is to serve the bank’s UK & Ireland clients by providing them with funding and capital solutions. Together with other specialist teams, DCM Origination will take part in analysing sector themes and balance sheets, identifying possible funding or capitalisation opportunities, and subsequently pitching the bank’s services and products tailored to specific needs from our client base.

The Director, DCM Origination will be responsible for leading the team in activities in relation to the origination, arranging, and structuring of debt capital markets transactions in various forms and sizes, including (i) (non-) investment grade public (listed, unlisted, rated) vanilla or structured bonds, (ii) private placements (e.g., private placements in EUR, RegS USD, GBP or currencies from other OECD countries).

The DCM Origination team is also involved in identifying debt capital markets opportunities for coverage and its clients, developing and maintaining an ongoing relationship and dialogue by following market trends, understanding funding needs and advising on debt funding solutions for refinancings, capital expenditure, and M&A.
