Role: Commercial Operations Director

Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

Overview:

The Director, Commercial Operations leads all post-contract commercial activities across GBRX’s Capex and Opex programmes. This role ensures value for money, efficiency, and compliance with procurement regulations, contract management, financial control, supplier performance, and risk management while aligning with government policies and Network Rail standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement commercial strategies for Capex/Opex programmes.

Manage post-contract activities, ensuring adherence to commercial frameworks.

Negotiate and develop bespoke commercial agreements with rail operators.

Oversee contract performance, ensuring supplier compliance with KPIs and Procurement Act provisions.

Maintain audit compliance and ensure accurate financial reporting on budgets and variances.

Implement structured change control, ensuring legal compliance and governance for contract modifications.

Drive supplier performance management, dispute resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Build strong stakeholder relationships with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and oversight committees.

Essential Requirements:

Degree-educated with membership in a relevant professional body (RICS/CIPS) or equivalent experience.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience managing high-value, complex contracts.

Expertise in contract law, procurement, dispute resolution, and negotiation.

Experience in commercial management within construction and/or rail industries.

Financially astute, with strong analytical and commercial acumen.
