Finance Business Partners is the interface for Finance into MOD Customers. As part of DIO's Customer Delivery operating model, functional leads from across key business areas have been assigned to each TLB, who work closely with the senior leadership team to better support the delivery to our customers. This is an exciting role which uniquely means you will gain a wealth of knowledge across the breadth of DIO's finance areas, be a part of the DIO cross-functional Customer Support team which includes members from Estates, Delivery, Commercial and PMO teams, as well as building relationships with your assigned Customer. It’s a true strategic finance role, where you can shape interactions and drive value add.
DIO Finance operates a flexible working model whereby individuals may be required to transfer to another role. This may be in response to critical vacancies or for the individual’s personal development. These moves will not require a change to an individual’s duty station.
Essential: Qualified Level 4 – AAT or Certificate level CCAB/CIMA
Desirable: Qualified with CCAB, CIMA or equivalent or working towards qualification
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
This role works across DIO finance acting as the finance business partner to DIO’s customers who are MOD’s Top Level Budget Holders (including the Army, Navy, Air and Strategic Command). The successful candidate will be paired with a subset of customers and become the primary finance front door and source of financial advice and information for them. This role is one of four finance business partners, the current vacancy being the Air role. To enhance development, at a mutually agreed point, the intention would be to move individuals around customers or alternative roles within the business. You would provide specialist financial advice based on understanding of business value drivers and information requirements, with a focus on financial performance and decision-support. These roles are visible to seniors and will enable applicants to gain an understanding of the breadth of DIO business, as well as form relationships and insights with your customers. As a true business partner role this represents a rewarding opportunity for a financier to develop key finance skills, work closely with subject matter experts including military personnel, as well as gaining strategic level insight and engagement!
