Company Introduction
My South West based client is a Higher Education Institution that has achieved an overall rating of Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework. As a result of an organisational restructure, they are currently recruiting for 3 x Digital Learning Developers to support the implementation of Blended and Connected learning and teaching across the institution.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist in the production and updating of course material and assessments for both online and campus-based courses, particularly for the Moodle VLE collaborating with CADI and faculty-based academic and professional services staff as appropriate.
- Support staff and students in debugging and troubleshooting the use of a range of software, hardware, digital tools and resources for blended and online learning.
- Provide training to staff and students in the use of learning technology tools, including the University's VLE as required.
- Mount, test and maintain digital content (including handbooks and other resources) in the Moodle virtual learning environment.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Significant experience of developing and quality-assuring materials and assessments for a VLE, particularly Moodle.
- Significant experience of resolving queries about the Moodle Virtual Learning Assessment including identifying and fixing functionality as appropriate.
- Significant experience of Learning Technologies and Software packages within Higher Education.
- Experience of staff development relating to digital learning.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
- Experience of using web design tools and environments to high standards and levels of complexity.
- Working knowledge of database and spreadsheet organisation, manipulation of data and creation of reports.
- Ideally educated to University level.
