The main purpose of Digital Forensics Technician is to assist the Digital Forensic unit in providing a quality, high specification analytical and evidential service for the stakeholders of West Mercia Police which can robustly stand up to scrutiny of the legal profession and to ensure that Quality Standards including International Standards Organisation (ISO) 17025 and the Forensic Science Regulators (FSR) Codes of practice are maintained and adhered to. Support the operational requirements of the Digital Forensics Unit through performing administrative tasks including receipt and quality assurance of exhibits and producing reports and undertaking pre-examination, forensic acquisition and post examination of computers hard drives and other storage devices.
