Diesel/Shop Mechanic (Shop - 1st Shift)

Diesel/Shop Mechanic (York, PA)

Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 4:00pm

Pay: $25-$28/hr+ (Negotiable)

Responsible for performing scheduled maintenance and repair on equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulics, and DOT regulated vehicles, as well as performing preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. This position requires basic knowledge of vehicle systems to perform routine maintenance and repair.

Requirements:

• Heavy Truck and Construction Equipment Experience
• Must Have Complete Set of Own Tools
• Minimum 2-5 years as a Mechanic
• Clean Driving Record
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Assist with accessing required parts and tools to perform work
• Must be able to interact well with others and work independently or in a team setting

Basic Job Functions:

• Inspecting heavy construction equipment, attachments, heavy trucks, and trailers for proper performance to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
• Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools
• Testing repaired equipment for proper performance to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
• Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on equipment
• State Inspection of vehicles/trailers
