In the role, you will enjoy personal and career development as you become a valued team member and work within a culture where achievements are celebrated and work is undertaken with an enormous sense of pride.

Confident with any technical difficulties you may face, you’ll have the self-assurance to ask the right questions and take note of how best to move projects forward. As part of a supportive culture, you’ll collaborate with others effectively, while liaising across multiple departments on a daily basis to ensure that production needs are met successfully.

You should apply if you have:

  1. Time served in a toolmaking background and be able to demonstrate your hands-on experience of bench-fitting, machining, and MIG, TIG & ARC welding. Experience of CNC machining and the programming of languages using 3-axis milling machines would be beneficial.
  2. An ability to analyse problematic situations to come up with effective solutions quickly and with confidence.
  3. Experience of CAD/CAM, including AutoCAD, Delcam, and NX (or their equivalents), is also beneficial for this role.
  4. Your understanding of and adherence to safety policies is key, as we utilise a 5S safety system that ensures the workshop is organised, effective, and safe for everyone.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Apply excellent technical skills and root cause analysis, implementing long-term solutions to problems identified during breakdown responses.
  2. Think on your feet, prioritise your workload, and have the flexibility to move from one job to another within your shift, managing your time effectively.
  3. Carry out planned maintenance tasks and continuous improvement activities to a high level of quality, completing projects that include MIG, TIG & ARC welding, while also working on preventative die and tool maintenance.
  4. Take great responsibility for the part we play in successfully delivering projects, communicating with all members of the team and across departments to support cross-functionality, while also demonstrating a good attitude when it comes to learning different processes and procedures.
  5. Motivate yourself when it comes to improving your methods and abilities, with a passion for developing your personal skills and embarking on training opportunities.
