We are looking for clinical scientists or medical physicists interested in radiation protection and/or radiology, to join our small but growing team at this exciting time as we expand to cover the regional Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs).
We are looking to recruit to either a Band 7 role or a Band 8a. If someone has suitable experience for the Band 8a then this is available, otherwise we offer a great opportunity to provide the training and experience for a Band 7 to progress. Or a suitable Band 6 looking to develop into a Band 7 role.

Main duties of the job
- Carry out a clinical scientist role for Diagnostic Imaging work carried out across the Mid and South Essex Group (MSE).
- Assist in routine and non-routine diagnostic quality assurance and control across the MSE.
- Assist in commissioning of new equipment.
- Provide Clinical Scientist support to all sites and private providers the team supports.
- Develop additional skills/train other staff creating resilience in the team.
- Investigate and calculate patient and staff dose incidents.
- Assist with research applications for trials within the MSE.
- Assist with audits and departmental reviews.
- Assist with risk assessments and local rules.
- Assist with controlled area assessments, room design and safety measures.
- Develop skills or offer support within the fields of MRI and Laser protection if interested.

Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria- 1st Degree in physical science
Desirable criteria- Masters degree in a physical science
- Registered clinical scientist with the HCPC
ExperienceEssential criteria- Significant experience of working in radiation protection/diagnostic radiology
- Extensive experience at Band 6 level or above
