DevSecOps Delivery Manager

We are seeking a hands-on DevSecOps Delivery Manager who will act as a central figure in driving the successful delivery of DevSecOps-related initiatives, ensuring the team is supported, processes are optimized, and project outcomes align with organisational goals.

Band: UKRI Band E (UKRI Ts & Cs)
Salary: £45,272 gross per annum
Reports to: Head of DevSecOps and TSS
Location: Swindon (Hybrid Working)
Contract: Fixed Term Until (31/03/2027)

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a hands-on DevSecOps Delivery Manager who will act as a central figure in driving the successful delivery of DevSecOps-related initiatives, ensuring the team is supported, processes are optimized, and project outcomes align with organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Documentation Management
    • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of project-related documentation, including plans, status reports, and updates.
    • Complete and deliver monthly project documentation, including progress summaries and compliance checklists.
    • Support with updates to documentation in response to evolving project needs, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and standards.
  2. Backlog Management
    • Collaborate with project teams to manage, prioritise, and refine the project backlog, ensuring alignment with objectives.
    • Facilitate regular backlog grooming sessions to clarify requirements, address dependencies, and resolve blockers.
    • Ensure backlog items are well-defined, actionable, and updated with appropriate priorities.
  3. Agile Methodologies and Ceremonies
    • Provide guidance and support on Agile methodologies to ensure adherence to best practices.
    • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
    • Coach teams on Agile principles to enhance collaboration, adaptability, and productivity.
    • Participate in the PI planning meetings with IUK IT teams.
  4. Change and Incident Management
    • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to raise and track change requests related to tools, processes, and scope modifications.
    • Support the team in managing incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions.
    • Manage problem records and escalations to ensure timely resolutions.
  5. Commercial and Tooling Scope Support
    • Assist with identifying and documenting changes to the tools' scope and ensuring commercial requirements are met.
    • Coordinate approvals and acquisitions necessary for tool enhancements or additional functionality.
  6. Protecting Team Focus
    • Act as a shield for the technical team, minimising interruptions and distractions that may hinder their ability to focus on critical tasks.
    • Manage external communication and stakeholder expectations to maintain a productive work environment for the team.
    • Ensure workloads are manageable and appropriately balanced across the team.
  7. Representation and Deputy Responsibilities
    • Attend meetings as a deputy when required, representing the team's interests and providing updates on progress and blockers.
    • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the team to ensure effective communication and decision-making.
    • Provide feedback and insights to leadership to support informed decision-making.
