We are looking for a DevOps Engineer is to help provide solutions to problems and issues as well as providing maintenance and support of software and hardware for both Internal and Cloud Hosted services. You will be expected to develop new skills and demonstrate ongoing learning as well as acting as a good example for the rest of the team, bringing new ideas and alternative solutions as required.

Esteiro Business Solutions are an established company and the software authors of Gold-Vision, an innovative CRM solution. In addition, we have a growing suite of products plus a mixture of standard and bespoke web portals, web services and system integrations.

The DevOps Team manage, implement and maintain our global infrastructure upon which our award-winning CRM SaaS environment and our Marketing Solution, run with the highest standard of availability. Alongside this, we also maintain UAT and Development environments as well as our own internal systems, providing internal IT support to the entire business.

DevOps Engineers are key members of the DevOps Team, and an ideal candidate would have 2-5 years of experience in some of the following: A scripting language, SQL maintenance, Azure services, PowerShell, IT Security, IT Infrastructure or Desktop support, Intune, maintenance of hardware, Windows operating systems, Hyper-V, TCP/IP networking, and Active Directory services.

Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Objective: Working as part of our DevOps team to maintain services to customers and colleagues and innovate to meet the demands of product and technology changes.

Responsible to: Head of IT Ops and Security

Salary: Competitive Salary depending on relevant experience and qualifications

Hours of Work: Standard hours are 7 ½ plus a 1-hour lunch break within the hours of 8am until 17:30pm, starting at either 08:00 and finishing at 16:30, or starting at 09:00 and finishing at 17:30 as required. There is also a requirement for extended weekend and evening work. You should expect a minimum of one extended evening per week and one weekend per month, however, this could change with demand and is kept to a minimum where possible. Out of hours work is recompensed with time off in lieu. Initially, your employment would start with the earlier 08:00 to 16:30 hours in the main office in West Haddon with a view to drop to hybrid working with around 2 days a week in the office following the onboarding period.

Key Responsibilities:

DevOps Engineer

The primary role of a DevOps Engineer is to help provide solutions to problems and issues as well as providing maintenance and support of software and hardware for both Internal and Cloud Hosted services. You will be expected to develop new skills and demonstrate ongoing learning as well as acting as a good example for the rest of the team, bringing new ideas and alternative solutions as required.

Responsibilities
  1. Operation of our hosted infrastructure including day-to-day monitoring of environments, networks and backup.
  2. Participation in ongoing and future team projects, from planning/specification to execution and sign-off.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Implementation of new technologies into existing environments.
  2. Writing of documentation that can easily be followed by others.
  3. Promote an honest but positive message to team and clients.
  4. Evaluation of technologies based upon suitability without preconception to ensure the best solution.
Ancillary Responsibilities
  1. Working with 3rd party vendors and suppliers.
  2. Work with colleagues on both test and live deployment and supporting configuration.
Application Knowledge

Applicant would be trained in use and installation of our core products and expected to contribute to customer support from time to time.

Azure Management
  1. Design, deployment, improvement and monitoring of Azure VM's, storage and networking, including elements of cost monitoring.
User and Desktop Management
  1. Asset control and technical support of desktop and laptop PCs for around 30 colleagues.
  2. Support for Microsoft365 and related services.
ISO 27001:13 standards adherence and internal audit

Assist the Senior Leadership Team in maintaining the ISO 27001:13 security certification, including internal audit of other teams and maintaining the document set.

Technical Experience and Skills

Required Technical Skills
  1. A scripting language
  2. PowerShell and SQL working knowledge
  3. Windows server stack
  4. Understanding of virtual environments
  5. Basic networking knowledge including some understanding of DHCP, DNS, IP, Firewalls and Routing
Highly Desirable Technical Skills (would be advantageous for one or more of these)
  1. SQL/Server - Installation, monitoring, backups and performance
  2. Management of Azure services
  3. Active Directory and user/file security management
  4. Failover Clustering and general Hyper-V management
  5. Intune
  6. SAN storage operation and management
  7. Backup technologies
  8. Deployment and testing methodology
Optional Technical Skills
  1. Microsoft365 management
  2. Desktop support - Windows and Mac
Person Specification:

Education and Experience:

The following education and experience is required to apply:
  1. Either a relevant degree to a good grade, plus at least 1 years relevant employment experience
or
  1. Three years plus, of relevant employment experience
Communication

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal and an ability to converse with all levels of technical capability.

Any experience of multiple internal team communications is highly desirable.
