Our client is currently seeking a Development Management Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in managing the planning and development approval process and ensuring that projects adhere to regulations and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Reviewing and assessing planning applications
Providing expert advice on development and planning matters
Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and local development plans
Liaising with senior and principal planning officers to coordinate the planning process
Preparing detailed reports and documentation for planning committees and stakeholders
Conducting site visits and inspections as required
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of planning legislation and policy
Responding to enquiries and providing excellent customer service to applicants and the public
Job Requirements:
Experience in development management
Strong understanding of planning regulations and policies
Proficiency in preparing and assessing detailed planning applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and present findings to committees
Strong organisational and time-management abilities
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in planning or development management
