Development Lawyer - Senior Associate/Legal Director | 7+ PQE | Leading Social Housing Team | Birmingham | Hybrid Working

BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a highly regarded national law firm on an exciting opportunity for an experienced real estate lawyer (7+ years PQE) to join their Housing Development team in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to work with a leading team dedicated to making a social impact by advising a broad range of Registered Providers and housing associations.

The Role:

As a Senior Associate in this Housing Development team, you will:
- Act for a large and expanding client base of Registered Providers, advising on complex property matters.
- Work on high-quality legal transactions, including acquisitions of affordable housing, land purchases, and construction projects.
- Take a leadership role by supervising junior team members and contributing to their development.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic legal advice.
- Play an active role in business development and the continued growth of the team.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate who has:
- 7+ years PQE in real estate, ideally with experience in social housing, housebuilding, or local authority projects.
- A strong understanding of affordable housing transactions, including conditional/unconditional contracts, options, golden-brick structures, and overage agreements.
- The ability to work independently on routine property transactions and provide support on complex matters.
- Excellent client relationship management skills and a passion for business development.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
