Salary: GBP23,809 per year
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 5:15pm

Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Despatch Assistant to join their ever-expanding team.

Responsibilities of the Despatch Assistant:

1. Check orders to ensure the correct items and quantity have been packed.
2. Booking of national and international shipments.
3. Create customs documentation for exports: Commercial Invoices for all exports, packing lists for majority of exports, Certificate of Origin and Attested Commercial Invoices where required.
4. Obtaining shipping quotations upon request for the Sales team.
5. Contacting customers regarding order shipping requirements.
6. Marking shipments as despatched on Sage 200.
7. Labelling up of parcels being collected.
8. Email customers with their tracking number when required.
9. Scanning orders once despatched for accounts so they can invoice the orders.
10. Arranging collections.
11. Chasing deliveries when requested by the customer.
12. Keep an eye on customs clearance delay emails, in case we need to provide further information to the courier to get it through customs.
13. Saving and filing of POEs and PODs for any international shipments, and chase customers for waybills for a POE if they arrange the collection themselves.

Requirements of the Despatch Assistant:

1. At least 3 years previous experience.
2. Experience with imports & exports.
3. Excellent communication and organisation skills.
4. Highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
5. Good judgement and common sense.
6. Ability to work to deadlines.
