Job description

Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking to fill a Desktop Support Analyst position within the Desktop Support Team in the Health Informatics Service at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This role sits within a small team supporting the desktop and printer infrastructure throughout the Trust. This role will involve preparing and deploying desktop PCs, laptops, and tablet devices across the Trust. It involves travelling to Trust sites predominantly in Leeds and York and supporting LYPFT staff working at partner premises.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will carry out all tasks as requested by the Desktop Service Manager. These tasks include provision of ICT support for the entire Trust, including fault diagnosis and resolution, updates and upgrades of hardware and software on desktops and printers, proactive maintenance of Trust devices, and supporting services and third-party organizations.

Job responsibilities
  • Provides second line support for Trusts desktop hardware and software
  • Provides second line support for Trusts printing services
  • Provides second line support for users using the Trusts desktop services and desktop and laptop support.
  • Works to provide the resolution of issues/problems by analysis of information gathered in conjunction with
    • Operational staff
    • Infrastructure Support Analysts
    • 3rd party providers
    • Other Trust departments as and when necessary.
  • Works with all system users/customers using HIS services.
  • Helps monitor service desk calls assigned to the Health Informatics Service, making regular updates and ensures the user concerned is also kept informed of the calls progress/status.
  • Helps ensure operational and Trust reporting needs are achieved by providing training, coaching, and practical support to users.
  • Helps to ensure all systems documentation internal & external is maintained to the required standards.
  • Develops training packages relevant to users requirements, including manual handouts & other presentation materials.
  • Delivers training to Trust staff, giving regular support & update sessions where necessary.
  • Delivers training & updates to Trust staff when setting up equipment or installing software.

  • Building and imaging knowledge and experience with Windows 10/11
  • Experience of software deployment using SCCM and supporting desktop applications
