Steelwork Detailer – Hitchin, Near Luton

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per year (DOE)

Location: Hitchin, near Luton

Responsibilities:

1. Create GA and detailed drawings for structural and architectural steel elements, including beams, trusses, stairs, and façades.
2. Prepare fabrication drawing packages, including assemblies, single parts, NC files, and schedules.
3. Generate bills of material, bolt lists, and related documents.
4. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure project success.
5. Perform site surveys and take accurate measurements.
6. Assist and mentor junior draftspersons.
7. Manage drawing control, calculations, RFIs, and variations.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
2. Proficiency in Tecla and CAD software.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Industry-relevant experience.
5. Ability to perform site surveys and work with precision.
6. Ideally, reside within 45 minutes to 1 hour of Hitchin.
7. Availability to start January/February 2024.
