Job description

Are you a passionate and creative Design Technology Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of designers, engineers, and innovators? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join a dynamic team at a great school in Hertfordshire. This role begins March 2025.

Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach a range of Design Technology disciplines, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering.
  • Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills through hands-on projects.
  • Ensure a safe working environment in workshops and classrooms.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Support extracurricular activities, competitions, and trips related to Design Technology.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop an innovative and inspiring curriculum.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Design Technology at a secondary level.
  • Has a strong understanding of materials, tools, and digital design software.
  • Is passionate about fostering creativity and technical skills in students.
  • Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is committed to supporting the progress and well-being of all students.
