Job Title: Design Manager

Location: Shrewsbury

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum

Overview:

We are working on behalf of an innovative and forward-thinking organisation specialising in the design, project management, and maintenance of pumping stations. They are currently seeking an experienced M&E Design Manager to take the lead on mechanical and electrical design elements of water and wastewater treatment projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented design professional to drive technical excellence, mentor a team, and deliver high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical and electrical design for pumping station projects from concept through to completion.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and meet client specifications.
• Produce and review design documentation, including schematics, layouts, and calculations.
• Oversee and support junior engineers, providing guidance and technical input.
• Collaborate closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal project teams.
• Manage multiple projects and lead design review meetings.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Proven experience in M&E design within the water or pumping station sector.
• Strong working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
