Job description

Position: Design Engineer

Location: Witney

Job Type: Permanent / Onsite

Our market leading client who specialises in manufacturing specialist materials are on the hunt for a Design Engineer to join the team!

Role and Responsibilities –

In this role you will be responsible for designing fit for purpose components and assemblies for the business product range. You will have experience in the full product lifecycle showing it going from concept to manufacture.

Other responsibilities include:

  1. Create CAD concepts, parts, and assemblies in line with functional requirements, geometric tolerances, manufacturing techniques, and internal standards
  2. Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM & DFA)
  3. Provide mechanical design input to develop new systems and mechanisms or improve existing ones
  4. Provide technical support to both internal and external customers

Experience or Qualifications –

  1. Degree within mechanical engineering or significant experience in a mechanical/materials science environment
  2. Competent user of 3D CAD (ideally CREO or Windchill)
  3. An understanding and awareness of manufacturing and assembly techniques and processes
  4. Experience working with Cryogenic Systems (Desirable)
