JOB: Design Engineer
LOCATION: Ware, Hertfordshire
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)


Premier Engineering is seeking a Design Engineer with AutoCAD experience to join a growing company based in Ware, Hertfordshire. This role involves creating detailed technical drawings and designs, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop high-quality products.


The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  1. A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field
  2. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D)
  3. Experience in mechanical or structural design within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  4. Knowledge of materials, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
  5. Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and BOMs
  6. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  7. Ability to work independently and within a team
  8. Good communication skills, both written and verbal

The Design Engineer role will involve:
  1. Creating detailed AutoCAD drawings for manufacturing and production
  2. Developing and modifying designs based on customer and project requirements
  3. Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and production teams
  4. Ensuring designs meet industry standards and regulations
  5. Managing multiple projects and ensuring deadlines are met
  6. Reviewing and improving existing designs for cost-effectiveness and efficiency
