Job description

We are a manufacturing company in Milton Keynes, who craft flexible fuel tanks for many industries. This includes motorsport, automotive, marine, aerospace, defence and aviation, to name a few! We are the leading manufacturer in our field and exclusively supply all of the teams on the Formula 1 grid.

We work with some world-famous brands and craft a safety product, meaning quality is of the utmost importance to us.

The Job

As a Design Engineer, you will be expected to work efficiently and effectively with the Design team, managing multiple projects and prioritising workloads.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Document designs and systems throughout the production lifecycle to ensure customer's requirements are met and follow company standards.
  2. Apply engineering principles and conduct design calculations in order to develop robust and compliant system design.
  3. Produce high-quality designs, with accurate models, digital representations, drawings and information for the Operations department to follow.
  4. Creation of fit check card models, to ensure accuracy of design and understanding of fuel cell construction.
  5. Develop job knowledge in all areas of Fuel Cell, Systems and Component Design, and continually progress their engineering capabilities.
  6. Reverse engineer existing designs to develop the concept and production intent of new designs.
  7. Team working with the ability to oversee others.
  8. Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy.
  9. Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives.

We are looking for someone who:

  1. Minimum one year of relevant professional or academic experience.
  2. Experience with customer/supplier liaison.
  3. Minimum 2:2 Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline e.g. mechanical, electrical or fluid systems.
  4. Ability to extract information from data sheets.
  5. Ability to read engineering drawings.
  6. Experience with ERP and PLM systems.

The Package

  • 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
