About the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their established team in Loughton. This role is crucial in ensuring technical compliance, enhancing our overall service, and maintaining high installation standards. The successful candidate will help the client remain competitive through correct product selection and adherence to industry regulations and legislation.

Responsibilities of a Design Engineer:

  • Technical Compliance: Ensure design projects meet specifications and comply with industry regulations.
  • RIBA Stages: Demonstrate knowledge of RIBA stages.
  • Site Inspections: Involvement in technical aspects of installation.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to ensure installations comply with design and specifications.
  • Design Review: Evaluate consultant designs and calculations for design and build projects.
  • Estimating Advice: Advise the estimating department on technical compliance and value engineering.
  • Product Review: Assess new products entering the market.
  • Quotation Appraisal: Review and comment on quotations for compliance with specifications and drawing requirements.
  • Design Information Review: Ensure all design calculations are prepared and signed off according to relevant standards and codes of practice.
  • Commissioning Reports: Review commissioning reports for compliance with design and specifications.
  • CAD Drawings: Prepare record ‘As installed’ drawings marked up and issued for CAD.

Qualifications/Requirements of a Design Engineer:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree
  • Technical Skills with CAD
