James Purdey & Sons have a position within our Engineering & Machine Shop Department. The role requires someone to work using Solidworks to deliver a range of Newly Developed Products. The successful candidate will support ongoing production whilst working closely with other CAD & CAM Engineers. The role will require close collaboration with Production & Craft to deliver prototypes through to manufacture.
Design and develop innovative products using Solidworks. Other CAD packages such as Creo, NX or Catia will be considered.
Assist Craftsmen in the production of new prototypes.
Convert legacy documentation/MasterCAM data into production-ready 3D models and drawings.
Review and approve documentation, engineering drawings, material/part specifications, and validation reports.
Construct and prove out designs.
Familiarity/working knowledge of using a PDM system.
Work to and keep up to date with BS 8888.
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
Educational background in Mechanical, Product or Design Engineering.
Previous professional experience within a manufacturing environment.
Mechanical Design expertise is preferred.
Strong understanding of mechanical components and engineering processes.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A proactive, hardworking, and solutions-oriented individual.
Familiar with FMEA and FEA processes.
Experience with organic surface modelling.
Passionate about working with bespoke luxury products.
