Design Engineer

OCU Group has experienced continued growth and expansion within the water and wastewater sector. As a result of our ongoing project successes, we are now looking for a skilled designer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with site managers, project managers, quantity surveyors, clients, and other key stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Carry out upfront site surveys
2. Carry out desktop study requirements
3. Obtain utility drawings and use clients' GIS systems
4. Produce PowerPoint presentations / feasibility reports
5. Produce detail design drawings on AutoCAD
6. Produce design risk assessments
7. Produce material lists based on detail designs produced
8. Produce design changes as required
9. Prepare site handover and completion packages
10. Attend meetings both internally and with clients
11. Update design manager or PD on progress of projects

Skills & Experience

1. Degree or HND qualified in Construction or Engineering. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
3. Competent using AutoCAD LT 2D
4. Awareness of CDM 2015
5. Knowledge of the water/utility industry is essential
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
7. Full driving licence essential
