Design Engineer
Newark, Full Time, Permanent
Circa £40,000 DOE

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer for our client located in Newark. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, ideally within the food manufacturing sector.

THE ROLE

The ideal Design Engineer will be enthusiastic about using their skills and expertise in a forward-thinking environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product designs meet client requirements.
  • Manage design projects from concept through to production.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Design layouts or redesign layouts to improve efficiency and functionality.
  • Visiting sites, sometimes involving overnight stays.

THE CANDIDATE

The successful Design Engineer should have excellent communication and teamwork skills and have the following skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Solid Edge, or similar.
  • Experience with 3D modelling and simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery used in food production.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
