Job description

Engage Talent Partners are working with our Aberdeen-based client to source a Mechanical Design Engineer.


Our client is an innovative company with a global client base covering oil and gas, renewables and defence and are looking to hire a Design Engineer who is looking for a new challenge in an environment that will offer progression, development and excellent benefits.


Key responsibilities:
  1. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  2. Support proposal and project work while meeting tight deadlines.
  3. Assist in enhancing company design systems, standards, and procedures.
  4. Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings to deliver solutions that meet client requirements.
  5. Develop products from initial concept to production with a professional and time-efficient approach.
  6. Review and refine departmental systems, procedures, and guides, while collaborating on interdepartmental process improvements.
  7. Prepare technical reports outlining completed work and produced products, including engineering calculations, finite element analysis, and CFD.
  8. Generate and contribute ideas for the development of new and existing products.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering and experience in developing innovative engineering solutions, preferably within the oil and gas industry. However, our client is also open to candidates with an HND in Mechanical Engineering and over five years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in 3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis software, such as Inventor (or similar), Ansys and MathCAD is essential. Additionally, applicants should have strong engineering calculation experience and excellent technical report writing skills.
