Job description

Salary competitive (SW London) – Hybrid working (3 days a week in our Fulham office)

Little Tiger Press has an opening for an entry-level design position. This is an ideal opportunity for an aspiring designer to join the Caterpillar Books imprint’s creative team in a varied role, working across picture books, novelty board and non-fiction. You will be extremely organized, with excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask. The Design Assistant is integral to the creative studio, liaising closely with editorial, production, sales and marketing. You will be responsible for handling reprints and supporting the design team on reformats and new titles as necessary. Tasks will also include preparing files for print, checking proof material, preparing sales and marketing content to brief, doing image research and contributing to creative development meetings. Proficiency in Creative Suite is essential, as is a passion for children’s book design.

You will be:
  • A methodical, quick and organised worker, happy to juggle a busy workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • A friendly and proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Creative, while able to work accurately to a brief, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent at maintaining good housekeeping and file management, with knowledge of print-ready file setup preferred.
  • Experience with novelty mechanical guides, such as flaps, dielines, etc. is preferred.
