Job Title: Teacher of Design and Technology (Product Design) Location: Ilford, London Position: Full-Time Design and Technology Teacher (Permanent) Start Date: ASAP/January 2025 Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
The Role We are seeking a dynamic and creative Design and Technology Teacher with a focus on Product Design to join our team full-time ASAO or from January 2025. This permanent position provides an exciting opportunity to inspire students through innovative design projects and hands-on learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Design and Technology, with a strong emphasis on Product Design, aligned with the national curriculum.
Foster students' creativity and technical skills through practical projects, encouraging them to explore materials, processes, and modern technologies.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Design and Technology exams, offering guidance and support throughout their learning journey.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them grow and develop their design skills.
Contribute to the development of the Design and Technology department, including curriculum resources and project ideas.
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages innovation and collaboration.
Engage in extracurricular activities related to Design and Technology, such as clubs or competitions, to further enrich student experiences.
About You:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Design and Technology, Product Design, or a related field.
Strong subject knowledge of Product Design and its practical applications in secondary education.
Experience teaching Design and Technology at GCSE and A-Level is preferred.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
A passion for design, creativity, and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential.
Willingness to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular initiatives.
