Design and Technology Technician – North Bristol

Are you a skilled and motivated individual with a passion for Design and Technology? A 'GOOD' secondary school in North Bristol is seeking a Design and Technology Technician to support their DT department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical skills and a keen interest in supporting students' learning in a creative and hands-on environment.

The Role:

As a Design and Technology Technician, you will:

  1. Prepare and maintain equipment, tools, and materials for DT lessons.
  2. Assist teachers in practical demonstrations and provide technical support to students.
  3. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed in the workshop.
  4. Organise and manage stock levels, ordering materials when necessary.
  5. Support the smooth running of the department by setting up and clearing away materials for lessons.

The Ideal Candidate:

  1. Experience in a similar role, or a background in engineering, woodwork, metalwork, or product design.
  2. Strong practical skills and confidence in using workshop tools and machinery.
  3. A good understanding of health and safety regulations in a school or workshop environment.
  4. Organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
  5. Previous experience in an education setting is desirable but not essential.
