Design and Brand Manager

Purpose Of The Role
To provide design and brand management services to ensure design and brand aligns with the organisation's vision, purpose and values, and is effective in meeting Bristol Waste's corporate and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a key role as a brand guardian in managing and the Bristol Waste Company brand, and sub-brands e.g. Big Tidy and The Big Get Together, as well as work on developing the brand including the commercial business and any potential rebrand.
- Create effective and stand-out signage, print and digital marketing materials, ensuring consistent on-brand guidelines.
- Design a wide range of communications and marketing collateral from signage for our offices, leaflets encouraging students to improve their recycling, and tools for our commercial sales team, to infographics, business plans and social impact reports, and projects to inspire behaviour change.
- Conceptualise and execute creative designs that help deliver our corporate, commercial and marketing objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Bristol City Council) to create on-brand, engaging and impactful materials across mediums and channels.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practice in graphic design to continuously improve design capabilities.
Essential Requirements For The Role
- A Graphic Design degree, equivalent qualification or experience.
- Extensive experience in brand and brand management including brand guidelines and designing for traditional and digital communications.
- Creative with excellent attention to detail, and ability to take the initiative.
- Midweight-level (in-house and/or with agencies) and strong portfolio demonstrating a range of creative and professional design projects and skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/ Photoshop/ Illustrator/ After Effects /Premier Pro) and MS Office.
- Thorough understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, layout composition, and accessibility.
- Experienced in print processes and production (from leaflets to signage).
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and handle multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines.
- A collaborative approach, providing high standards of customer service.
- Excellent team working skills, the ability to respond well to feedback and direction, and the willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to prioritise workload while working on multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment.
