Deputy Ward Manager - Risca Ward
An opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Ward Manager on Risca Ward at the Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr Hospital. Our patient profile is general medicine.

To assist with the management of the ward on a day-to-day basis by supporting and acting on behalf of the ward manager. To be aware and demonstrate practice based on current advances in nursing. Work in conjunction with other disciplines in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. To promote evidence-based practice and act as an accountable role model and clinical expert.
You will be expected to work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team on the Unit and be actively involved in providing high standards of quality care. You will also be expected to demonstrate a high level of nursing assessment and clinical care skills by supporting Band 5 nurses, Student nurses, and Band 2 HCSWs in their professional development within this dedicated environment. In addition, you will be required to provide support and advice to patients and their families/carers.
You will be expected to facilitate safe, effective, and timely discharges of patients.

The successful post holder will assist with ward management responsibilities and strong nurse leadership to support the Band 7 Ward Manager.
