Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced HV Cable Site Supervisor to oversee the installation, jointing, testing, and commissioning of high-voltage cable systems (typically 33kV to 400kV). The role involves managing site operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise on-site HV cable installation, jointing, and termination works.
- Coordinate daily activities and resources to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) standards.
- Liaise with engineers, subcontractors, clients, and utility companies.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, cable route plans, and method statements.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Monitor site progress and report to the Project Manager.
- Maintain detailed site records, including site diaries, permits, and material deliveries.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and installation of HV cable systems.
- Support testing and commissioning teams where required.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience supervising HV cable installations (33kV and above).
- In-depth knowledge of HV cable installation techniques, including trenching, ducting, jointing, and terminating.
- Strong understanding of relevant standards (e.g., DNO/TSO specs, IEC/BS standards).
- Valid CSCS or equivalent site safety card.
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Full UK driving licence (or relevant to country of operation).
Desirable:
- SAP (Senior Authorised Person) qualifications.
- Experience with offshore or renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of cable pulling calculations and cable system design.
- Familiarity with GIS or cable routing software.
