Do you want to make a difference to children in care and help them flourish and achieve their potential?

We have Children's homes across the county, where vulnerable children live and receive support from a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who are responsible for their welfare. We are looking for a Deputy Homes Manager who can champion excellent care for children as well as support our dedicated staff who work in the homes.

The role will support the Registered Homes Manager at the Bungalow in the day-to-day running of the residential home and the effective deployment, management, training, and supervision of staff within the team; and to deputise for the RHM in their absence.

Key tasks of the role include:

  • To contribute to the day-to-day management of the home in line with the requirements of the Ofsted Inspection Framework, the Children's Homes Regulations, and the Quality Standards 2015.
  • You are responsible, together with the Registered Homes Manager, for initiating and implementing robust individual childcare plans and risk assessments in order to keep young people safe in line with the overall looked after child care plan for the young person.
  • To work in partnership with children's social workers, other multi-agency childcare professionals, parents, providers of health and social care services, and the community to achieve good outcomes for the young people in your care.

The candidate we are looking for in this vital position will have:

  • A proven track record in relating to children and young people within a residential setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma/QCF level 3 or equivalent qualification relevant to working with children and young people.
  • Excellent understanding of child development, attachment, trauma, and therapeutic parenting.

We want to make the application process as easy as possible, so please click the 'apply now' button to upload a CV and a brief cover letter that highlights how you meet the key requirements below, as this is what we will be shortlisting on:

  • Significant experience of working in a children's residential setting.
  • Managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Experience of implementing care plans and actively contributing to safeguarding of children and young people.

Interviews will be held in person within two weeks of the closing date.

We offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment. More information can be found on our benefits page.
