Job description

Looking for a Year 6 Class Teacher/ Deputy Head teacher role? Flourish Education are looking to recruit a Year 6 Class Teacher/ Deputy Head Teacher to work in a 2-form entry school on a full-time basis. This role will be split where the successful Teacher will work in Year 6 teaching in the morning and then step into the Deputy Head Teacher role in the afternoons. This role has the potential to become permanent from the following academic year.


Our client has been rated GOOD by Ofsted and is located just North from the centre of Walsall and where children are at the heart of every decision made. They are looking to recruit a Year 6 Class Teacher/ Deputy Head Teacher who can support these attributes and are experienced working within KS2 and SLT.


As a Year 6 Class Teacher / Deputy Head Teacher in our client's school, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  1. Planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in a creative and engaging manner in the mornings, working alongside the teacher assistant.
  2. Safeguarding all students.
  3. Marking work in line with the school policy.
  4. Attending meetings where necessary.

For the Deputy Head Teacher part of this role, you will be non-class based during this time and responsible for but not limited to:

  1. Leading a system and culture of continual improvement.
  2. Leading on and monitoring pupil progress.
  3. Leading on internal assessment.
  4. Supporting the Head Teacher in the day-to-day management of the school by being responsible for daily absence and staff cover.

This Year 6 Teacher / Deputy Head Teacher role is due to start ASAP and is expected to continue until the end of the academic year 2025, with the option of a temp to perm position for September 2025.


To apply for this Year 6 Class Teacher/ Deputy Head Teacher role, you will need:

  1. Experience in teaching either KS1 or KS2.
  2. Hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and/or Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
  3. Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills.
  4. Commitment to the role.
  5. A strong school reference from your recent employer/school placement.

Working for Flourish Education as a Year 6 Class Teacher/ Deputy Head Teacher you will receive:

  1. A competitive salary of up to £340 per day which equates to up to £66,628 per annum based on working 5 days per week for the full academic year.

The school is in the North of the centre of Walsall which is easily accessible from Bloxwich, Cannock, Great Barr, Dudley and Wolverhampton. Our client offers onsite car parking.
