Job Description: Deputy Head of Physical Education

Location: South East England, Buckinghamshire, High Wycombe

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £180 - £215 Per day

Qualifications:

  • Good honours degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Teacher Status

Job Duties:

  • Assist the Head of Physical Education in the overall management and development of the department
  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Physical Education lessons to students
  • Support the implementation of the school's Physical Education curriculum
  • Lead and coordinate extracurricular sports activities and events
  • Monitor and track student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to Physical Education within the school

Required Qualifications:

  • Good honours degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Teacher Status

Education:

  • Degree in Physical Education or related field
  • Teaching qualification

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in Physical Education
  • Experience in a leadership or management role within a school setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of the Physical Education curriculum
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students and colleagues
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Proficient in using technology to enhance teaching and learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or Physical Education
  • Coaching qualifications in a specific sport

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with occasional weekend or evening responsibilities
