Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities

MMP Consultancy is seeking a Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities on behalf of an NHS Trust based in Essex. This is a permanent position paying £107k per annum, with the ideal candidate starting as soon as possible. Previous experience within the NHS at Director level is non-negotiable. This is a senior role in the organisation that has the overarching day-to-day and long-term strategic responsibility for the safety, security and management of the built environment.

Building and developing a team to deliver will be a critical success factor to support them to deliver the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Lead the development and implementation of the Trust's estate strategy.
2. Manage capital projects, including redevelopment and major infrastructure planning.
3. Oversee all aspects of estates management, facilities management, and commercial services.
4. Ensure statutory compliance, governance, and risk management for the built environment.
5. Manage substantial budgets and drive cost improvement programmes.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Degree in a relevant discipline; post-graduate qualification preferred.
2. Chartered professional registration/accreditation (e.g., RIBA, CIOB, RICS, CIBSE).
3. Significant senior management experience in estates and facilities within a large organisation.
4. Proven experience in managing major change, financial control, and strategic planning.
