Main duties of the job

In partnership with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the Deputy CDIO will play a central role in defining and implementing the Digital, Data, and Technology (DDaT) target operating model, driving continuous improvement across services. Acting as a strong advocate for users and a collaborative challenger to the CTO, the Deputy CDIO will ensure the delivery of an immaculate service. They will lead on building trusted relationships with suppliers through effective service management and oversee the delivery of key programmes. In addition to managing an internal team, the postholder will serve as a key liaison for the DDaT function.

Essential

1. Masters degree in a relevant discipline with significant experience in a senior managerial and leadership role, including IM&T services development, informatic provision in a health environment, and leadership of diverse teams delivering enterprise-wide functions.

Desirable

1. Managing Successful Programmes or similar programme management qualification.

Experience

Essential

1. Interpreting national and local strategy to inform development of solutions for NHS requirements.
2. Successful track record of senior roles for successful implementation of major NHS healthcare projects.
3. Managing highly complex competing priorities and delivering on time with restricted resources.
4. Co-operative working with suppliers to develop innovative solutions.
5. Managing & evaluating clinical, business solutions, to ensure delivery of required benefits.

Desirable

1. Deputy CDIO in healthcare.
2. System working across an ICS at senior level.

Skills

Essential

1. Comprehensive understanding of NHS strategic objectives and drivers.
2. Comprehensive understanding of the NHS structure, organisations & management.
3. In-depth knowledge of healthcare workflows & underlying business requirements across all components of an acute NHS Trust and wider health sectors.
4. Knowledge of budget planning, tracking and forecasting of multimillion-pound projects.
5. Significant skills in supplier management and contract negotiations.

Desirable

1. Knowledge of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West (BOB) Integrated Care System or similar.
