Deputy Care Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Deputy Care Manager to join our team to help start up our franchised office covering Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Paddock Wood and surrounding villages.

As the Deputy Care Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. You will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of clients while promoting a compassionate and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote the highest standards of care and service with a focus on person-centred care.
  • Manage the process of client acquisition from initial contact to conversion in line with company policy.
  • Provide leadership, management, and the highest level of support to the care team.
  • Conduct assessments and develop care plans tailored to meet the individual needs of clients.
  • Ensure successful operation of quality control systems and perform quality assurance visits for clients.
  • Support the management with monitoring and evaluating the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the management with development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality care services, safe service and working environment.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of care staff, to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Allocation and delegation of workload and rostering.
  • Ensure a positive and supportive working culture and environment in line with Blossom ethos and values.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and all relevant healthcare partners/advocates.
  • Handle any complaints and incidents, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, development, and improvement within the team to ensure all team members are competent/skilled in their roles.
  • Promote a culture of improvement by continuously assessing service delivery and implementing best practices and innovations in social care.
  • Participate in on-call rota.
  • Record key performance indicators and report to the Manager.
  • Take part in disciplinary investigations, interviews and meetings following company policy and in conjunction with advice from the HR Provider.
  • Act as the responsible person for the safe running of the care service in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data across all relevant platforms.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Ideal Skills Set and Experience:

  • At least 1 year management experience of working within a domiciliary care service.
  • Proven experience in leading, training and managing a team to provide high quality domiciliary care services.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards the qualification.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of compliance and legislative requirements of the Care Standards regulations.
  • Strong skills in conducting care assessment and care planning using Access.
  • Good working knowledge of IT Systems with experience of Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Ability and confidence to build and maintain relationships with clients, team members, families and other multi-disciplinary agencies.

Other Job Requirements:

  • Must have Right to Work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure.
  • Full and valid UK Driver’s license and access to a Vehicle.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Managerial: 1 year (required).
  • Domiciliary care: 1 year (preferred).

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required).

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (required).

Location:

  • Tonbridge, TN9 1EP (preferred).
