What is the overall job?

Based at our Leighton Buzzard Plant and Equipment warehouse, this role is responsible for carrying out day-to-day operations, on hire/off hire process and quality control, Hire software control and office operations/commercial duties. Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Finance teams to ensure all company charges are invoiced accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential records for the Plant & Equipment department.
  • Ensure proper order documentation is in place before assets leave the depot.
  • Promote and uphold health, safety, and well-being standards for operatives and suppliers within the depot.
  • Ensure that Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are up to date and accurately reflect ongoing work.
  • Work independently, managing and prioritising workload effectively.
  • Manage equipment hire and delivery logistics for projects and suppliers.
  • Provide regular updates on asset availability, condition, and hire rates.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with customers, ensuring they are informed about the status of plant and equipment.
What do I need to be successful in this role?
  • Experience of working within a busy plant hire environment.
  • Proven administration experience, preferably gained in the construction plant hire industry.
  • Experience with working with tower cranes and hoists, and other small plant items.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Aconex and Assettagz is desirable but not essential.
