Job description

We’re actively working with a public sector organisation in Manchester in their search for a Democratic Services Officer. This is a temporary, full-time position.

Duties:

  • Work independently and accurately to ensure key commitments and deadlines are met, whilst liaising with internal partners, senior officers, external democratic services officers and political leaders to ensure that decision-making functions can operate appropriately, efficiently and transparently whilst also enabling good public engagement.
  • Ensure that all documentation (e.g. agendas, minutes, notices, forward plan etc.) is of good quality, accurate and dispatched efficiently, on time and in compliance with legal or other agreed timescales.
  • Service a range of executive and non-executive meetings in order to facilitate the smooth, effective and transparent running of business including working alongside Communication and IT colleagues as required to support effective web casting / recording of meetings.
  • Provide general administrative support, as necessary and directed by Head of Legal/Head of Corporate Office.

Start: May 2025

Duration: Initially until end of September 2025 with the potential to be extended.

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours a week)

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days a week in-office in Manchester)

Rate: £222-259 per day, umbrella.
