We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident DBA Developer to join our Analytics team based at our Head Office in Bolton. The DBA Developer role plays a crucial role in planning, developing, and maintaining our SQL Server databases to ensure the efficiency of our reporting functions.

This is a key role within our Analytics function and the right individual will need to demonstrate consistency, performance, and great leadership from the outset.

Salary and benefits:
37.5 hrs per week Mon-Fri between 9am-5pm

Who are we looking for?

  1. Extensive experience with Microsoft tech stack including SSIS/SSMS
  2. Passion and aptitude for database development and new technologies, ADF is an advantage
  3. Enthusiastic about data and the difference it can make
  4. Wants to take ownership of pieces of work and projects from requirement through to delivery
  5. Strong troubleshooting skills
  6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment often under pressure
  7. Good verbal and written communication skills
  8. Power BI is an advantage
  9. Microsoft Excel Advanced
  10. Ability to work office based full time within a commutable distance of our Head Office in Bolton

What will you be responsible for?

  1. Managing the Data warehouse predominately using SSIS/T-SQL
  2. Acting as a gatekeeper & maintainer of our data ecosystem
  3. Creating, developing and maintaining SQL Server systems and processes ensuring optimisation and stability. ETL experience required.
  4. Developing and maintaining SSIS packages for task automation
  5. Developing and maintaining SQL Server Management Studio, SSRS Reports
  6. Defining database schema, tables, indexes, views, stored procedures & triggers
  7. Testing database processes and performing bug fixes
  8. Writing complex SQL scripts from across multiple data sources
  9. Experience in dealing with Error Handling, Transaction Management and Query optimisation
  10. Assisting in the migration, optimisation and cleaning of data
  11. Ensuring data compliance with GDPR & other relevant regulations
  12. Completing tasks in line with Department KPIs & business objectives
  13. Helping in out of hours releases
