Job description

We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud DBA with DV (Developed Vetting) Clearance to manage and maintain our cloud database systems. This role involves ensuring high performance, availability, and security of our databases, alongside planning and executing database administration tasks.

Rate - £700.00 per day inside ir35

Location - Fully remote

Duration - 12 months

  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

  • Monitor and optimise database performance, implement necessary upgrades and patches.

  • Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues and outages.

  • Create and maintain database backups and recovery procedures.

  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database operations and performance.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a DBA, with a focus on AWS cloud databases.

  • Proficiency in AWS services such as RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift.

  • Strong understanding of database management and troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Database - Speciality or other relevant certifications.

  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
