db Group, Malta’s leader in Hospitality & Leisure sector. The group is distinguished and well-established in the hospitality sector with its own branded db Seabank Resort and db San Antonio Hotel.

We are currently looking for a Carpenter to join our projects team and be part of our latest expansion and upcoming project in St. George's Bay, Malta. An exceptionally designed and built destination that includes a 5* Hard Rock Hotel, luxury homes, renowned restaurants and an upscale shopping mall that is set to add tremendous value to the local area.

Overview:

The carpenter is responsible for working with wood to build and repair assemblies and other items and may have to select and source appropriate materials depending on project needs. Additional duties include calculating quotes, meeting with clients and creating design plans for remodeling projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Installing and repairing any wooden structures and fixtures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work.
2. Designing and installing doors, cabinets, shelving, benches, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
3. Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
4. Finishing wood works by applying lacquer/varnish and protective coatings by hand or spraying methods.
5. Sourcing and selecting lumber by size and quality to suit each job according to customer’s budget and style.
6. Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job.
7. Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals.
8. Reading and interpreting blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations.
9. Planning and scheduling works to reach project timelines.
10. Adhering to occupational safety standards.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a carpenter.
2. Knowledge of using hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws, planers and nail guns.
3. Joinery or cabinet-making skills.
4. Knowledge of building regulations and codes to be adhered to.
