Job description

Salary: £30,232.96 - £33,468.90 per year pro rata

Contract Type: Permanent

Position Type: Part Time

Hours: 21 hours per week

Who we are

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research.

What you’ll do

  1. Lead and manage high quality, therapeutic registered day services and commissioned and non-commissioned community supports for people with dementia, those at greater risk of dementia, and their families and carers.
  2. Ensure services meet Alzheimer Scotland’s vision for unique therapeutic, highly person-centred support.
  3. Oversee day-to-day responsibility for the services within the area and manage the referral and assessment process.
  4. Promote services with key local stakeholders within Health and Social Care and relevant organizations.
  5. Collaborate with the Head of Services to ensure safe practice and delivery of high-quality, person-centred therapeutic day services.
  6. Evidence, review, and continually improve the quality of services, participating in internal audits and Care Inspectorate inspections.
  7. Provide strong line management and leadership to your team, setting clear objectives and conducting regular reviews and appraisals.

What you’ll have

  1. Experience managing a team in a social care, health or similar setting, or demonstrate knowledge of effectively managing and leading a team.
  2. Knowledge of the Health and Social Care Standards, SSSC codes of practice, and the Care Inspectorate's role in registered services.
  3. Understanding of dementia, mild cognitive impairment, and Brain Health, with experience supporting people living with dementia and their families.
  4. A recognised professional qualification in health, social work, or a related field, to SCQF Level 7 (SVQ 3).

The successful candidate for this post will be required to provide proof of right to work in the UK and will also be subject to a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland.
