  • Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying slow queries, indexing strategies, and query plans.
  • Build and maintain database-driven reports, dashboards, and analytics using Tableau.
  • Design, maintain, and enhance ETL processes for all aspects of the firm’s positions, trades, and pricing information.
  • Ensure regular database maintenance, including backups, recovery processes, and routine integrity checks.
  • Implement database security best practices, including user permissions and roles.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of code, database structures, processes, and best practices.
  • Industrialize and maintain risk system feeds and workflows.
  • Take ownership of a small subset of raw data reporting requirements to external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years working extensively with SQL Server databases (T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions).
  • Experience using Python for scripting database tasks, automating workflows, data extraction, and transformation processes.
  • Proven experience designing normalized and optimized relational database schemas.
  • Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and troubleshooting database performance issues.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing ETL processes using tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or custom scripts.
  • Familiarity with Tableau or similar tools for reporting and data visualization.
  • Experience in database maintenance tasks, backups, restores, security management, and disaster recovery.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, analysts, and business teams, to gather requirements and deliver database solutions.
  • Displays and operates at the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
