We are looking for a Data Test Manager to lead a team of Senior QA Testers within our Group Data Office (GDO). The role holder is also responsible for the operation of testing controls across the GDO managed enterprise data platforms. Acting as a role model for data testing across the Group, the role holder will be required to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels, champion opportunities around the use of Data in Royal London and work with Senior Management to drive forward data capabilities across Royal London.

About the role

1. Own Data Testing Strategy & Test Environments Strategy for Enterprise Data Platform (EDP)
2. Ensure high quality data testing practices are adhered to
3. Lead, support and develop a team of QA testers to deliver the team's objectives.
4. Design and execute a wide range of testing techniques and communicate test results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
5. Identify defects, alert the business to them, and help to prioritise them based on defect severity
6. Provide in-depth knowledge of data warehouse testing techniques and bring best practice to the team and the wider Group.
7. Develop a test automation roadmap for Data based on business objectives and emerging technologies.
8. Stay current on industry trends, innovations, and best practices in data warehousing testing techniques
9. Manage third party vendor and partner relationships

About you

1. Expert understanding of data warehouse testing and ETL processes especially in support of targeted data product testing
2. Experience of mentoring and coaching more junior team members
3. Experience of managing multiple stakeholders
4. Good understanding of cloud data engineering technologies including: Spark, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps (ADO)
5. Experience of CI/CD and CT pipelines and 'Shift left' DevOps covering Code Quality, Unit and Regression Testing.
6. Experience of test automation frameworks using pytest (or similar) to create simple and scalable test cases.
7. Excellent organisational and leadership skills
8. Ability to think strategically and communicate a vision/strategy effectively
