Job Description
Verisk is looking for an experienced data scientist to support the development of various analytics models and supervise several junior data scientists. The successful candidate will have experience in data science with coding experience in Python and the ability to develop models using GLMs and machine learning. You will have the skills to manage a small group of data scientists and contribute to the development of new and existing products.

Role Responsibilities
- Support the Analytics Team build out new analytics products for claims and underwriting.
- Execute data analysis and exploratory analysis (project design, processing of and cleaning of data, merging/joining disparate data sources, feature engineering, performing analyses and communicating results).
- Produce models using a variety of algorithms (GLM, GBM, Random Forest, Neural Networks etc.) and assess the relative strength of each model.
- Identify which factors are relevant and predictive and should be included in the model build.
- Document processes, code, implement version control, and create functions/template code so that your successes can be applied to new data with minimal effort.
- Create clear and easy to understand reports. Verbally present analysis ideas, progress and results to colleagues.
- Support a high-performance collaborative culture. Participate in peer-review with colleagues where appropriate to learn, teach, and ultimately, produce high quality results.
Qualifications
- Masters/PhD in maths, science or analytics related discipline.
- Solid programming experience ideally with Python and SQL.
- Experience with data manipulation and validation as well as modelling or statistical techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented technical aptitude with strong logical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Eligible to work in the European Union.
