The Opportunity...
The UK Sports Institute have an exciting opportunity for a Performance Data Lead to work with British Shooting and Pentathlon GB on a part basis (30 Hours per week). We are also open to considering 0.4 FTE (15 Hours) in either sport. Please advise within your application.

British Shooting and Pentathlon GB are jointly seeking a Data Scientist to support their Performance Teams. This unique opportunity allows candidates to apply for a joint role with both World Class Programmes (FTE stated above) or a role with only one sport, depending on your interest and availability.

Great Britain is in the top 3 most successful pentathlon nations in history in a sport which has been a part of the modern Olympic Games since 1912. With a significant change on the format for LA 2028, Pentathlon GB plans to accelerate knowledge and learning of the integration of the new discipline of Obstacle racing to enable continued success on the world stage. Pentathlon GB aims to be a sustainable world-leading Olympic nation in the future, inspiring a broader section of backgrounds to take up the sport.
British Shooting and Pentathlon GB are looking for a Data Scientist to join their Performance Support Teams. This role is pivotal in leveraging data to gain a competitive edge, shaping performance insights, and guiding decision-making. Working closely with athletes, coaches, and staff, the Data Scientist will translate complex data into actionable insight, helping to optimise skill, health, and performance while advancing data-informed approaches to understanding success.
We are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience of applying their expertise in data management, integration and visualisation. To be successful in this role you will need to be a highly motivated individual with a keen interest to learn new skills and a commitment to your personal development. You will have a passion for sport, data, an interest in technology, and enjoy working as a part of a high-performing team.
