Job description

Our client is seeking a Data Scientist to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise vast amounts of data to inform commercial decisions and improve business efficiency. The role will evolve over time, offering the chance to mine and analyse data, providing meaningful insights for data-led decisions. You'll be working closely with the commercial team, testing various hypotheses and identifying trends, patterns, and insights that drive strategic decisions.

What you'll do:

As a Data Scientist, your role will be pivotal in exploring new ways to utilise vast amounts of data. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you work with large volumes of financial/trading data, identifying trends and patterns that can inform strategic decisions. You'll collaborate on the development of machine learning models, optimising business processes and forecasting financial outcomes. Your ability to develop data-driven solutions will be key as you create algorithms and tools that automate decision-making across the company. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll align data science initiatives with business goals and validate findings. Lastly, your knack for visualising data insights will come into play as you build interactive dashboards and reports.

  • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Support predictive modelling through the development of machine learning models
  • Develop data-driven solutions by creating algorithms and tools that enhance decision-making

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python and SQL for data analysis and modelling

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Excellent communication skills to convey findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
