Data Scientist

I am recruiting for a Data Scientist for an exciting multi national business.

As a Data Scientist, you’ll be at the heart of data-driven decision-making. You’ll help build and maintain scalable data pipelines, design predictive models, and turn complex datasets into meaningful insights for the business. This role offers a balance of technical depth, creative problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain robust data pipelines to support analytics and machine learning initiatives.
2. Build and deploy predictive models using statistical methods and ML algorithms.
3. Ensure high data quality through validation, monitoring, and automated checks.
4. Translate business needs into clear analytical approaches and solutions.
5. Communicate results and insights via dashboards, reports, and presentations.
6. Spearhead data experiments like A/B tests to guide strategic choices.
7. Present findings using clear and compelling visualisations in Power BI or Python-based libraries.
8. Seek out new ways to use data to enhance services, processes, and customer satisfaction.
9. Contribute within an Agile framework, offering input on timelines and mentoring teammates on data best practices.

Minimum Requirements

1. PhD, MSc or equivalent in data science, physics or a similar STEM subject.
2. 2+ years of experience in a Data Science or similar analytical role.
3. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
4. Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar data visualisation tools.
5. Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and MLOps principles.
6. Great communication skills both verbally and written.

The role is offering a salary of up to £50,000 per annum and comes with a wealth of benefits including a hybrid working schedule within their offices in Blackburn.
